“Biztown” through Junior Achievement:
Location: 10711 Red Run Blvd, Owings Mills.
This is a very unique experience that offers 4th – 6th grade students the experience of running BizTown, a simulated city of businesses, at their Owings Mills facility. Volunteers are needed on the day that students visit JA BizTown. Volunteers serve as a mentor/coach to a small group of 6-8 students as they operate a real business for the day, encouraging students to communicate and collaborate with one another, while thinking critically and getting creative. Volunteers provide those “ah ha” moments daily as they help students discover the value of themselves, their education, and their future beyond the classroom. Training for volunteers is provided online and also upon arrival for the day. Both trainings are mandatory. Here is a video that best describes BizTown: https://vimeo.com/117833636
